I was on lockdown
for 22 days in a psychiatric ward. When I arrived, I did not know my name or who I was. I was having visual and auditory hallucinations. I had not slept more than five hours in three days. I was having a meltdown … again.
I had been in recovery for almost two years. Then, things started to fall apart. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her husband was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer. My birth father died. I was having five or more panic attacks every day and taking toxic medications. I could not sleep at night.
