You can look good, smell good and be spiritually broke – if you want to. You have the right to remain powerless. You can choose to jump out of God’s hand; but, why would you want to have, “some deliverance” (II Chronicles 12:7) when you can be totally free from the law of sin and death?

Think about it: Jeroboam inherited the covenant of his Kingly lineage, reaffirmed in both David (his grandfather) and Solomon (his father). Jeroboam had this testimony: that he had a praying grandfather.

Yet while Jeroboam ruled Israel, he trangressed the covenant with God, following after idols and yes, devils. Jeroboam committed egregious offences against God’s priesthood. He not only worshipped idols; Jeroboam also removed the priests and Levites from serving in the holy places. He replaced them with statues and pagan rites.

Would people be so easily averted from God’s presence if they truly understood what is the absence of Him. When we loose ourselves from God, we lose the power that is Him; we lose the protection and the very charge of angels. That’s right, angels.

Beloved, do not trade the shadow of the Most High (Psalm 91:1) for utter darkness. If ye lift your eyes and find no light of holiness, humble yourself and repent quickly, that ye may find some deliverance; and better yet, walk in the light (John 8:12).
