Reflection

Grace is God’s unmerited favor. There is nothing you have done to earn it, but it can still be yours. There is nothing you have done that is too evil, that the sacrifice of Christ cannot wash your soul from. Salvation is completely free and available to every person, no matter what family you were born into, what nation you live in, what guilt or shame you may feel. The world holds grudges and re-injures the hearts of even the repentant, restricting access to basic human rights (you have the right to life that only comes from your Creator because all souls belong to Him), but Jesus came that you may have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

If you have been reading the WiSeekU blog (now Heir Force (Romans 8:17)) for some time, you may know that I was a suicidal, anorexic teenager. I did not feel worthy or able to live. I found myself in a wilderness so deep and wide, that I didn’t have a friend in the world – or so I thought. Until I gave God the hurt and shame of my past, I could not get out from under a dark cloud that followed me no matter how well I behaved. I had darkness in my heart that clouded my vision, made me judgemental of others, and kept me from entering true worship with a friend who is closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). I had to learn what salvation really means.

God’s saving grace is a culture medium – like a blood transfusion. It changes the environment in which the stem cells regenerate and multiply to create new life. Imagine a chemist working to create a new heart for transplant. Adding a culture medium to healthy stem cells can generate a new heart when those cells divide and multiply. The blood of Christ is your culture medium. His life is the good cell that multiplies in your life. It is available to you even if you do not have insurance. You do not need permission or have to wait on a list. When you receive the sacrifice of Christ and accept Him as your Savior, his blood is transfused to you and regenerates your very soul.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

If you are like I was and feel like you have nothing to lose, it does not mean that you should give up the gift of life (Ezekiel 18:32). Having nothing to lose means that you have everything to gain. Today, make a decision to love God with abandon – withholding nothing; and serve Him with all of your might. He has the power to change your beaten coal into diamonds.

All of the pressure you have sustained on this earth has tested your metal, but HIS WORD says that the trying of your faith works to build patience in your heart (James 1:3). Start believing. This is all God asks for in return for his gift of saving grace – He is looking for someone who believes that He is able to do what He says (Matthew 9:28). Belief is the seedbed of faith. If you believe that God is able, you can faith the He will perform His good work (1 Kings 8:20).
