Memory Verse

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. Romans 6:17 – 18 KJV (Public Domain)

17 But thank God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient with all your heart to the standard of teaching in which you were instructed and to which you were committed. 18 And having been set free from sin, you have become the slaves of righteousness [of conformity to God’s will and purpose]. Romans 6:17 – 18 AMP

Reflection

I was watching a documentary called, HEAL, a few weeks ago. Author Anita Moorjani said, when your cancer is in remission, it is an opportunity to re-mission: return to the mission that you had before cancer…

The Bible instructs believers to go boldly to the throne of Grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you have a low self-image, how boldly do you go anywhere? That’s why the enemy wants your self-image to be negative. To accomplish this, he launches two types of attacks:

Attacks on your personal perception of worth
Attacks on your ability to influence other people with the light from God

Attack On My Personal Perception of Worth

I remember hearing as a teenager, an audible voice speak to me the WORDs of John 15:16 (KJV) – “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” This was the promise that proceeded my commission. Later in life, I hear the words of Matthew 28:19, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:.” Between those two communications and more intensely after the second one, Satan launched a brutal attack on my life, and especially on my mind.

At age 6 (1982), I began a journey with Post Traumatic Stress disorder resulting from rape. I entered a deep depression and became an anorexic teenager. I ultimately experienced schizophrenic bipolar disorder in my adult life. All of this happened while the enemy said that those things don’t happen to people of faith, but only to those whom God has abandoned. NOT SO!

Attack On My Ability to Influence Other People

Be aware that the enemy has no problem with you influencing other people, so long as that influence does not lead to freedom from bondage – because that is his domain and he is afraid of being alone in darkness. Satan learned a long time ago that darkness (absence of light / separation from God) in the mind produces darkness in the life experience, which he can then use to influence others negatively. We must understand that God developed the spirit realm to operate in the human experience through people.

A spirit on earth without a body is in violation of the spirit code of conduct. Thus, in order to bring hell on earth before the rapture, Satan needs a body – and he will use whatever he can get to bring more darkness. 2.) he is trying to separate you from God (who is the Vine through which you literally have life ) so that you lose sight of your identity (you are the Vine’s branch (John 15:5) made in His image) and extinguish your light to the world (Matthew 5:14).

If you have been abused or otherwise violated in this life, I want you to know that God loves you and there is a place for you in His family. You can overcome your past, no matter what you have done or what happened to you. You can experience unlimited grace. Furthermore, “Nothing that you have been through will be wasted” (Bishop T.D. Jakes). Your past and your present have brought you to this moment. God can give you beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3)

What About Mental Health?

Mental health disorders are not traditionally called “cancers”, but what is cancer? Cancer is defined as “a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body” (Google Dictionary). What does cancer do? It infiltrates and destroys normal body tissue. Now, let’s flip the light on this. A Biblical account of mental illness is “a man with an unclean spirit” (Mark 5:2). An unclean spirit can manifest as a stronghold of mental illness.

Cells in the human body do not communicate directly with the environment in which the body lives. Cells are directed by the nervous system. Genetics being equal, healthy stem cells can regenerate a part of the body when they multiply in chemically modified culture mediums. The composition of the culture medium (chemical environment) determines which part is formed in duplication. An example of a chemical culture medium is the blood of life (Lipton, 2015). Scientists are able to create synthetic blood, in order to generate body parts.

The human nervous system is influenced by constant communications from your consciousness in an attempt to adapt to your environment. The unique problem is that consciousness is not a direct translator of the environment from which it takes input and feedback. Consciousness is an interpreter that unfortunately has the ability to send a destructive message to the cells, which then copy and paste that message in cell format, millions of times. The result of this negative communication is a multiplicity of abnormal cells, or dis ease (disease).

Every living person is a spirit, living in a body, having a human experience. Humanity being equal before Christ (in a fallen state since sin entered the world), it is the culture medium or environment of Christ’s blood that re-constructs every part of the body of faith. By His stripes, we were healed.

Why “Commissioned” by Grace

Before you chose God, He chose you. His grace enabled you to be righteous in His sight because of Christ. After salvation by grace, God extends the same opportunity to you that He extended to the legendary faith heroes that you hear about: Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Jacob, Elisha, Elijah, and the list goes very much on… What is it? It is the opportunity to serve Him. It’s not a job, it’s an opportunity. It opens a door for you make the transition from a fisherman (seeking to be fed) and a “fisher of men” (seeking to feed the world starved of love). I asked God what what He wanted me to say. I heard, “Tell them that I love them.” No matter what else you hear from me, know this: “God loves you.”

Why do I say this a commission? – because everyone who steps through the door of salvation is given a place in God’s mission – to save the world. That’s right. Christ is the original Superman (supernatural man). There are different gifts of the Spirit given according to God’s purpose for each person. However, every believer is called to “commit to the mission” (commissioned) to share what they have been given – the same opportunity to become a member of the body of Christ – a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation (1 Peter 2:9).
