Morning Greeting

Good Morning Father! Good Morning Jesus! Good Morning Holy Spirit! Good morning friends! I am currently reading 30 Days of Unlimited Grace: Daily Prayer Devotional by Unlimited Grace Ministries (Bryan Chapell). This is day 16.

I usually pray after getting out of bed. This morning, I was led to not let my feet touch the ground before welcoming God into my day. It is an effort toward making prayer my first action every day. I remember feeling, “Wow. This is going to be a great day.” As believers, we know that we are supposed to put God first – in a place of honor. But I feel the Holy Spirit urging us to put God literally first by praying before we take action.

Morning Prayer

Reflection

Last night, my mother and I had a very good conversation about spiritual things. Before we knew, we had spent five hours at the dining table. One of the major topics we discussed was on the subject of family heritage. In the natural world, some people have a good inheritance and some people don’t. In the spiritual realm, anyone who wants to, can come into a good inheritance.

The same way a good steward of worldly wealth prepares and passes to his or her children, God charges us to pass our knowledge and love of Him to our children. One thing that has at least four generations in my family is prophetic dreams. My maternal grandmother had dreams. Her son, my only maternal uncle, used to have dreams that would come true. I have had dreams and visions. My son has visions.

When you are called to this faith walk, you are called to be a chain breaker. One thing we must do for our children is teach them what we have learned about the spiritual gifts that have been given to us. The enemy recognizes patterns of experiences and tries to predict what will happen in your life – what will happen that he wants to avoid. If he used a certain play against your grandmother and your uncle and it worked, he will try to use it on you when your pattern shows that you might be the next Levite (Priest) in God’s family.

When I was a child, I used to play chess with Uncle Kenneth. Was an excellent chessman. He never used to say much, but we communicated on a spiritual level. Looking back on it, it was like we were twins, but he was twenty or more years older than I was. At some point the enemy gripped him in fear because of the dreams that he would have. Expressions led to being confined to a mental institution, where years later he took his last breath. I believe he died f a broken heart. In the months before his death, he intended to marry his girlfriend, which the doctors would not release him from the hospital to do; and he died.

Guess were I almost died in 2019? In the psychiatric ward of a public hospital. I know that those were the same demons that killed my friend. I know because that’s how the enemy works. He went back to his old playbook.

Abba, Father, way maker, Prince of Peace, mighty God, Comforter, Counsellor, the only wise God, our Savior, fortify your children right now. I speak over every dreamer, every Daniel and every Joseph, that the play of the enemy has failed. Thank you Jesus for snatching us from the jaws of death. Holy Spirit, do what you do: reveal your gifts and power in our lives. Order our steps in the WORD that will stay in the will of God. Teach us and guide us in truth. Make us more effective witnesses. Protect us on every side. Comfort our broken hearts. Deliver us from the snares of the enemy. Show up in our day to day. Be our lamp and let us be full of light.

²⁸These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

²⁹The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

³⁰This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

³¹And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

³²And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

³³And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

³⁴And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
