Morning Prayer
We know that God desires obedience over sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). Jesus also said that to love God with all your soul and might is the first and greatest Commandment (Matthew 22:34-40); and that the Second Commandment is as important as the first. The Second Commandment is to love our neighbors as ourselves. These two Commandments are so profound in God’s truth, that all of the other Commandments extend from these.

Reflection
In today’s reading in 30 Days of Unlimited Grace: Daily Prayer Devotional by Unlimited Grace Ministries, Bryan Chapell writes,
God knows our assurance of his love can be shaken. So, in one of the most sophisticated New Testament passages, God has the apostle Paul return to the simple theme at the heart of these letters: God’s unconditional love. It’s done in such a way that you can almost hear God whisper to Paul, “Now Paul, this is rather difficult for my people to understand, but lest they get discouraged, remind them Jesus loves them, and nothing can change that.
So, Paul writes in Romans that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus—not sin, not circumstances, not spiritual opposition. Whatever is going on in your life, if you have asked Jesus to be your Savior, this assurance is yours today and every day!
There may times that you try and fail to accomplish something that you deem important. But the victory in Jesus is that if your foundational purpose is to please Him, there is no such thing as failure. The opposite of success is not failure. The opposite of success is quitting. Whether you stand at the mountain top, or walk through the valley, if you do not quit, you cannot fail.
