Time Travel

Throughout my life, there have been two major influences in my spiritual growth in terms of corporate worship. I was first really saved (a change of heart beyond good behavior) as a member of Trinity Temple Church of God In Christ in Wichita, Kansas. Fast forward about twenty-five years, as I was a resident of Iowa after college, I joined Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ in Des Moines, about one week before giving birth to my son (that was just over 12 years ago). These churches have not only sowed good seeds into my life and the lives of my family, but they have each also been serving their communities for several decades.

I am a testament to their fervent prayer, wisdom, power in the Holy Spirit, and faithfulness to the Great Commission. As I now serve in media missions and have in some capacity for the past twenty-five years, I am standing on their shoulders. I want to appeal to you today, to step up your support for the ministries that have helped you achieve breakthroughs in your life, the way these have in mine.

Time Compounding

I was sixteen years old when I heard the voice of God saying, “I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit – and that your fruit should remain.” I remember standing in a church vestibule and watching from afar as the youth performed a play. From that day, my life was set on a trajectory to this very moment. I have not been perfect. I have made some mistakes and some plain bad decisions. Through it all, God’s grace and mercy have covered me. Now, I am raising a son who is Sho-Nuff Anointed. If you would have told me before I got saved that a child like this could have come from life, I would have said that would be a miracle. And it is. (He and I both almost died during delivery – but mercy said no.) It is the teaching and study I had in my youth, that I am pouring into my son now. Without the Generals in the faith who prayed me through, not only would you not be reading this, but I would not be alive today.

When I was trapped in sin and gasping for faith, I met God in a place of worship. In my early twenties (I am 44 this year), I had keys to Unity Temple. I was allowed to go to the church at any time. I would spend hours there alone with JESUS, singing at the top of my lungs, every song of praise to GOD. After getting married, we moved to a different church. That was the beginning of the end of my spiritual innocence. I was no longer found at random in the House of Worship, and I lost my virgin faith (aka childlike faith). I entered a depression that lasted thirty years.

Listen closely now. GOD is jealous for those who worship HIM in Spirit and in truth. In other words, HE will not share the glory of HIS praise with anyone. If you have an affinity to worship GOD, be careful that you do not use your gift to magnify this world. The LORD is patient, but His Spirit will not always strive with mankind. The gifts of the Spirit are to edify the body of Christ and not to make idols of their hosts.

After being hospitalized in 2019 (and my life was spared again), I found a Bible on the ward. I wasn’t myself, but I had to somehow reach that praise warrior inside of me. She was still there. She had just been muffled by ME ME ME songs and criticizing and complaining and compromising on standards that had saved her.

Finally, one day, that girl woke up. I was still in the hospital, but the Holy Spirit was speaking again. A few months earlier, I had published a book on finding your purpose. I asked my mother to bring that book to the hospital. I started reading and remembering who I was. If you do not live on purpose, you will die adrift; because whether or not you spend your time wisely, you are a time traveler. Don’t think so? Mark time right now. Walk away and return. Mark time again. What changed? Time. You can go through life at a common pace, dying every day. Or, you can allow GOD to manage your life and live beyond time. Living beyond time is not a new concept. Some people have never died, but have been translated to heaven. It also does mean that you will live forever in the form you stand now. Living beyond time means that…

You can compound time by living on purpose.

When you live according to your God-given purpose, God can reverse and erase the damage of your past. I have been in the room when a woman gave her life to Christ, and her face literally lightened as if a spirit had gone out of her. Dark cloudiness over her lifted and what looked like the new skin of a baby covered her face. I remember. I was there. I remember when my cousin and I were in a prayer service and she pulled her glasses off saying she could see perfectly. I remember being in the house of a stranger when my Aunt and Uncle went upstairs to pray for someone who was bedridden and dying. And the flesh returned to the bones, and there was life.

Even death has no victory in the hand of God (I Corinthians 15:55). So here I am today. I do not look like what I have been through. I don’t smell like the smoke of the fires I have survived – not by my might and not by my power, but by the Spirit of the LORD.

The popular definition of time compounding refers to the financial concept. Paul Tracy of Investing Answers writes,

Compounding is the process of the exponential increase in the value of an investment due to earning interest on both principal and accumulated interest.

In business, time compounding is removing yourself from the equation such that your earning potential is not dependent upon the time that you personally input every day – where an increase requires you to put in more of your own time. When time is compounded there is more than just you inputting time, multiplying the amount of work that can be done concurrently. Kingdom compounding is like that. God is looking for spiritual investors, who will compound time for His Kingdom.

And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. Leviticus 26:8

When you allow GOD to manage your life, He can supernaturally multiply your influence, your income, your business, your vision, your team, etc. He can put the armies of your enemies to flight. If you live on purpose or not, you are spending time. Because time is always moving, if you do not live on purpose, you are wasting time. If you get this message today and submit your life to God’s purpose, I decree and declare that God is going to give you a vision and a strategy to change your life and take you where many others have never gone before.

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so. If these shall hold their peace, even the rocks will cry out (Luke 19:40).
