Morning Call to Worship – Day 14

When he thinks you are standing on your own in the face of Goliath without even a sword – that is when the enemy will assume your demise. However, the presence of God destroys darkness and he has given us dominion over all its works. JESUS is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. He is an ever-present help in any time of trouble. My Dad (R.I.P. since 03/04/2019) told me that our African Ancestors said, “You are never alone. You have never been alone. And you can never be alone.” When you remember that God will never leave you alone, you start to wake up to the mystery of that dark glass surrounding the things you need a breakthrough for. Your vision starts to get clear. You understand that the work of the enemy is just an illusion. He will offer you a diamond, but his treasure is a facade.

The true God says, “prove me: (Malachi 3:10). You do not need to get lost in the enemy’s smokescreen and a flash of what could be if you fall along life’s road. God knows your future. He is a lighthouse and a living Word. He is a tower of refuge to all who seek after Him. I have been there where depression hurts. I have had everything stolen but the soles on my feet. I have seen people go to great lengths to make me feel gnat-feet tall. I have been lost in a world of tribulation (and it was mostly my fault). However, amidst tears, I still lift my eyes to the hills from whence cometh (continually) my help. My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.

While you may be wise beyond the pages of this journal – written by inspiration, God knows there is somebody who will say, “I surrender all” and “Take me to the King.”

This is for every lost, broken, thought-you-were-forgotten soul: our deliverer is coming.

Your testimony is not the end of your story. It is a stepping stone for you and the next generation, to take them and you to the next level, saying, “Momma pressed through, and baby you can make it too.” Your purpose is determined by GOD, but you write your own destiny by the choices you make. I want to spare you of a wilderness so full of trouble, that I could write until the ink goes dry. If you never read another post from me, remember this: the longest struggle I faced in the wilderness, tarried because I did not have a prayer life. Although I grew up in church; I knew what to say; I knew how to dress; was a beautiful mess: until I was just a mess.

I am not making light of it. I am just letting you know that it is easier than you think to fall from grace when you break your connection with God. With God, nothing is impossible to achieve; and without Him, you can also make history – bringing into the world the most atrocious things that have ever been recorded in history. Rome could even fall in one day, like a land wiped out by a disaster. It could even happen that a girl of seventeen gets angry. She gets mean (that was me) because somebody in the church strips her of her pride. The last evil of that girl is worse than the fault
at the first, till finally, she is just like one over the cuckoo’s nest. One day I heard a voice say, “Your eyes are blind. You
cannot see.”

I used to get tongue-tied, thinking about who was looking at me. I was in a confidence drift and identity crisis. I had a negative thought default. I was out of focus, taking snapshots of my life with blurred vision. Let me tell you, conceit only took me twenty years to conquer. If you can get off that bus, GO NOW! These days, the enemy still tries to bring pride to me, but the more I am lifted up, the lower I bow before the throne of the GOD who is worthy of all the glory.

I used to write letters to God. While wasting away in the wilderness of two decades of depression, my gift was keeping
dust on a shelf. By 2019, I did not even recognize it. I did not know what it was for. I did not know how to use it. I almost tossed it away with yesterday’s news. One day – and that not long ago, I asked, “God, is there a difference between
prayer in word and prayer in written word (so long as the hearts are sincerely equal)? But one day, (Hallelujah), God
let me get a glimpse of my first love – and His name is JESUS. He reminded me, that He prayed for me one day –
and I was not even there.

We did not hear JESUS’ voice the first time He plead my case to the Father. But He made sure I got His love letter.

GOD left all of us a love letter in His WORD (the Bible). For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

What kind of God would have mercy on a wretch such as I was? A God who knows something that I do not
know. He knows our future.
