Morning Call to Worship – Day 22

Worship Hour

We typically listen to songs on social media. However, this is not our first praise rodeo. The WORD speaks, “Whoever is merry, let him (or her) sing. Even if you are not a songwriter, just start singing and pray for the Holy Spirit to give you a new song. If you praise and worship God frequently, He will bring you a constant flow of music. In time, your spirit connection will produce songs never heard before because He will do a new thing to show His glory. Here are some songs (lyrics) He gave me (music by VTZ except in “Searching For You – Music by Tone Jonez, “They Have A Savior” – Stock Music from an electric CTK keyboard, and “Matter of Time” – Stock Music from an electric drum kit).

Fast Forward

Today’s Bible Insight is “I Submit To The Mission”

The following is an excerpt from the book, Fast Forward (in progress at https://goheirforce.com/library/books/fast-forward/).

James4-7

After receiving salvation and surrendering to God’s sovereignty, the next step is submission. You have already given God permission to use your authority. Now you are getting on board with His program, His master plan, and His grand design for your life and those whom you will serve in family, community, and ministry.

The integral seed of submission is obedience. You can choose to obey for many reasons. Even if you do not understand God’s way, you can still benefit from the principle of submission when you choose to obey Him because of who He is. See, life is about choices. One right choice can change the course of your entire life. The sooner you learn to obey God for the right reasons, the better your life will be.

Understand that God is a king. In the realm of kings and kingdoms, the reputation of the king is read in the status of His subjects, or the people who live in His kingdom. These people have every need supplied by the King. The kingdom of heaven is described as being paved with gold, having gates made purely of pearls, etc. The only reason there is poverty on earth is that there was sin in the garden, which caused a separation from God. God did not design poverty (and he also made a way to escape).

The original habitation of man was not a land where you had to break ground by the sweat of your brow and compel food to come forth from the earth. There was no pain in childbirth. There were no thorns and briers to prick and stick you. It was the garden of Eden, which was the ongoing presence of God, surrounding man on the earth. When by Adam sin entered the world, the presence of God could not stay on the earth with a man in it permanently, because no sin can tarry, or remain in the presence of God. Therefore, the atmosphere of God’s presence was recalled to heaven, and the atmosphere of sin was left on earth. This is the reason why mankind has to be cleansed from sin in order to re-enter and inhabit again the presence of God with His holiness.

Life is about purpose. When you have no purpose, you are not living according to God’s divine plan, and you will not survive on this earth without a purpose. If you are still here, there is more to your story than you have already lived. The sooner you get with God’s program, the better you be able to live out His purpose. Remember that submission means to submit to the mission. The mission of God is to restore the atmosphere of heaven on the earth. He wants you to be a part of that kingdom’s presence. In other words, you have been chosen to participate in that environment. This is the reason that you feel drawn to learn more about God, to better understand His way, and to make a change in your life that will last forever. You have the assignment to complete. God has already declared a purpose for your life.

In order to submit to God, it must be your highest level of submission. That is to say that your submission to God overrules other masters in your life. If for example, a friend entices you to be drunken, you will choose not to participate because your submission to God is your highest-ranking choice; and God commands that you not be drunken with any substance because it impairs your faculties, which are dedicated to Him and should be available for His use at any moment. This is why you refrain from some activities that may seem harmless on the surface. It is not because it is illegal – as some recreations that defile the body are not things that are against the laws of the land.

You do not lend your skills, talents, abilities, and time to some things that are even lawful for you because they are not expedient, or conducive, or helpful to the mission you are assigned to, which is to fulfill all the will of God for your life, which begins with purpose. Do not allow disobedience to destroy your purpose. Abstain from worldly lusts – which is more than sexual sin, which is anything that separates your mind, body, and spirit from the presence of God – which is things that make you feel embarrassed to come before God’s presence and talk with Him boldly and pray and praise with a clear conscience (not seared by un-repented sin).

Favor Will Find You

The Jews had light [a dawn of new hope] and gladness and joy and honor. Esther 8:16 AMP

Read Esther 8 – 10

Esther revealed the fabric of her relationship to Mordecai (Esther 8:1) after it was made known to King Ahasuerus that she was a Jew.

It is written that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just (Proverbs 1322). In Haman’s plotting against the Jews, he lost wealth, family, and life. King Ahasuerus gave the entire house of Haman to Queen Esther, who set it all under the rule of Mordecai. The King also gave Mordecai his signet ring, which identified Mordecai as a leader in the King’s court who was also able to speak and act on behalf of the King.

A signet ring contained an engraved signet, seal, or monogram. It would be pressed into softened wax or clay before drying, creating a stamp or seal for official communications such as letters from the King. The signet was unique to the King and not to be used without the King’s expressed permission.

Thus, a message bearing the King’s signet was trusted as a genuine communication of the King. The message would not be questioned or even verified. The King’s signet meant business and there was no person who could reverse the seal of the King.

Haman of course knew the power of the King’s seal. Garnering this powerful symbol for his own purpose gave Him (he-thought) un-rivaled authority to persecute his enemies. Yet, Haman had no knowledge of the favor of God. Esther had favor (Esther 8:5), and she was also an extension of God’s favor toward an entire people. Though no person could overturn the seal of the King, which Haman had procured for evil, yet God allowed His favor to save many alive.

God spoke to Zerubbabel – the Governor of the rebuilt Jerusalem and representative of the Davidic Monarchy (he was a descendant of King David and the grandson of King Jehoiachin of Judah who had lost throne when he was carried away to Babylon, which occurrence God referred to as His signet ring being removed from His hand) (Haggai 2:23)). God said that He would make Zerubbabel His signet ring. It meant that God had chosen Zerubbabel His servant to renew His covenant which He had made with the house and lineage of David. God said that His very Spirit abode and stood in the midst of those people (Haggai 2:5).

It is written that the Angels of the Lord encamp around them that fear Him. In your darkest hour, the Lord is there. There is no place that He cannot find you. When you read that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, consider that the very Angels of the Lord are encamped around you. How could the wicked prevail when the army of God is standing watch? An appearance of gain by the adversary is an illusion designed to shake your faith. It is written that the Lord will fight for you. What is required is that you be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. He will not forget your labors for Him.

When God chooses a representative, He also protects His investment with divine favor. His favor is like the seal of His signet offering both authority and protection in all matters of concern and also uncommon blessing even when no one else thinks it is significant (it does not have to be a major event in order to have God’s favor – He also blesses in small things). God’s favor delegated to you cannot be overturned by His enemies. It will make their weapons of no effect.

When God’s people are called by His name to humble themselves and pray and seek His face and turn from wicked ways, He will heal their land. Esther called for three days of fasting from all her people (Esther 4:16) before ever she spoke to the King concerning the signet-sealed letters of Haman, which called for the slaughter of her people.

Your land is not just the soil under pristine grass in the backyard by the garden. Your land is everything in your possession (stewardship). There is the ground of your heart (which can need tilling (Jeremiah 4:3) – we know since it is written that this “ground” can be “fallow” if unkept (Hosea 10:12)); there is the ground of your relationships and the ground of your actions (which is where you “sow” works of righteousness (hopefully)).

For all these things My hand has made, and so all these things have come into being [by and for Me], says the Lord. But this is the man to whom I will look and have regard: he who is humble and of a broken or wounded spirit, and who trembles at My word and reveres My commands. Isaiah 66:2 AMP

The favor of God is something to be sought and cherished (Psalm 119:58). It will seek you out and find you when it is required and just because God likes to express His feeling toward you. When you favor (prefer (Hebrews 11:25) and give preeminence to in seeking Him first (Matthew 6:33)) God, he replies in kind (Psalm 5:12, Proverbs 8:35).

Application: A Faithful Servant

 Devotional Reading: Matthew 1:16,18,20; 2:11; 13:55; Mark 6:3; Luke 1:27-56; 2:5,16,19,34; Acts 1:14

Mary was blessed and highly favored of the Lord, above all other women (Luke 1:28). She was found trustworthy by God. He knew that He could rely on her to care for the child, Jesus, who would be no ordinary child. He would be the Savior of the world.

Mary had to have strong faith in order to face the prospect of being an unwed mother in a time when this could have meant public disgrace or even death. Mary must have been a prayerful person who knew the scriptures and prophecies of the Messiah. Once the angel Gabriel explained that she would bear the child who should be called the Son of God, Mary did not object for any reason, nor did she question him further, but replied, “Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be done to me according to what you have said.”

Mary spoke like a woman of God. When she met with her cousin Elizabeth (Luke 1:39 – 56), she had words of wisdom like a woman well in age in the faith. This suggests that she had been walking with God long before receiving the message of the coming blessed childbirth. This is a good example to say that age does not equal wisdom. In order to be wise, you must study and cast off the immature ways of childhood. The journey to purpose should both strengthen and mature you in the faith.

LUKE 1:46-55

46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 48For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 49For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. 50And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. 51He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. 54He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; 55As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

Mary cared for the child Jesus and believed in Him as her Savior. She was with him at birth, and she was there when He went to the cross for the sins of the world.

God saw a faithful servant in Mary. She did not have worldly riches when He chose her, but she was rich in spiritual maturity, a part of which was her extraordinary obedience and faith. She said that God had looked on her low estate” (Luke 1:38,48). But she always refers to herself as His handmaiden (Luke 1:48), meaning that she was in His service at all times. She was a faithful servant whom God rewarded with the blessing of His only begotten son.
