I was inspired last year (December 2021) by the ministry of Transformation Church (Pastor Michael Todd) to have a Word of The Year for Heir Force Ministries in 2022 – something to guide our efforts and keep us moving in a righteous (right standing with God) path that benefits us all. I believe the LORD said, “Breakthrough.”

    #Breakthrough22 Series – #2: Stop Waiting For a Miracle:
    BE MIRACULOUS

Here is an excerpt from #2…

The quickest way to a miracle is to become one… The quickest way to a river is to create one.” Pastor Travis Greene – Minute 52:11 WATCH THIShttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VYFfZBs2s8

The Holy Spirit is downloading a new book in my spirit. SuperWoman is coming soon (“Heard in my spirit” (#HIMS) – Thursday, April 14th, in the year of our LORD, 2022)…

You’ve been trying to get out of the wilderness. The enemy has said you are lost and forgotten; that you are not a chosen vessel. That is a lie. That is an illusion. That is his reflection that he does not even recognize is his own.

The truth IS, God has been trying to create a river in the wasteland, because he promised to make a way in wilderness and rivers in the desert. Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water. You are a body of water, connected to a reservoir of life. There will be life the desert, because God has planted you in the wilderness. The drought is over.

Even if you are morally good, with a good name, the name God will call you is greater than the one you already know. If you need to change your name, know that the change behind the new name is not your job. It’s your responsibility, but you were not designed to change yourself. That’s what the Holy Spirit is for. The Spirit in JESUS was designed to change you. The sacrifice of JESUS was made to pay your debts. Let JESUS redeem you. Then let the Holy Spirit go to work in your life. You can have a new name in glory.

If you think you need a miracle, and it seems like no matter how many times you throw a stone, you can’t break the glass wall in front of your breakthrough, you might be missing the point. You just might be the miracle you are looking for.

The #Breakthrough22 Series is designed to put the David in your Goliath situation. The miracle is not just how a single stone with the right warrior won a battle. The miracle is just as much that David was a giant slayer BEFORE he ever chose a stone – and no one even knew it before the war – except the one who sent him.

    READ TODAY: ISAIAH 43

43 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

    Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

    I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.

Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.

10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

11 I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.

12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.

13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

14 Thus saith the Lord, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

15 I am the Lord, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

    16 Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

22 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.

23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.

24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.

28 Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.

    READ TODAY: ISAIAH 44

44 Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:

Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

4 And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

5 One shall say, I am the Lord’s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself (NEXT TOPIC) by the name of Israel.

Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.

Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.

10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?

11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.

12 The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.

13 The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.

14 He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.

15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.

16 He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:

17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.

18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

19 And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?

20 He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the Lord hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.

    24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

    25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:

27 That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:

28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

    READ TODAY: ISAIAH 45

    45 Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the Lord have created it.

Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

10 Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?

11 Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.

12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the Lord of hosts.

14 Thus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.

15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.

16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

18 For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.

19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.

21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.

24 Surely, shall one say, in the Lord have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

25 In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

    Mark 11:23 King James Version

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Read full chapter

    Glory to God Almighty!

A buzzing topic right now is “Why God allows suffering.” Many people are angry with God because of the calamities that are happening on the earth. Though it may not be understood, God is not the god of this world that causes suffering that He is often blamed for.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. II Corinthians 4:4

The thief comes to KILL, STEAL, and DESTROY. God Jehovah is not the thief in this reference. It is speaking of Satan.

In the beginning, the god of this world was Adam. However, Adam’s fall in the garden allowed Satan to take authority where it was never intended.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

This concept is very well explained by Kenneth Hagin.

The day after I re-blogged about migraines (Wednesday, 02-09/2022), I had the worst headache I have ever experienced in my life. If you don’t think that was a personal attack, you’ve got another thing coming. Yesterday, I had a fever of 101.4. This morning at the hospital, it was 101.1. I am not blaming God for being sick. I am thanking God that He is so confident in me that the enemy wants to take me down. I’m going to post that message again since this is the one he’s afraid of – the enemy is afraid that you are going to hear the message of faith and believe. DON’T STOP BELIEVING.

    Mustard Seed
    Mustard Seed by Novalis

Every person is given a measure of faith. There is also a fruit of the Holy Spirit called faith (Galatians 5). This is a supernatural impartation of empowerment to apply faith to real-world situations.

I know people who have severe migraine headaches. According to the Mayo Clinic, medically speaking,

A migraine is a headache that can cause severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation, usually on one side of the head. It’s often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine attacks can last for hours to days, and the pain can be so severe that it interferes with your daily activities. For some people, a warning symptom known as an aura occurs before or with the headache. An aura can include visual disturbances, such as flashes of light or blind spots, or other disturbances, such as tingling on one side of the face or in an arm or leg and difficulty speaking.

Spiritually speaking, I like to shift medical paradigms because when we learn how to think properly, we open the doors to God’s infinite wisdom and healing. Communication pathologist and cognitive neuroscientist, Dr. Caroline Leaf explains,

If you teach people how to think, they will find God.

And if we can begin to think like God thinks, we can apply that thought process to our world-changer: the tongue in which God placed the power of life and death. Then, we can decree and declare the difference needed in any situation.

20 A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:20-21

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:22-24

Instead of thinking of physical symptoms as just medically manageable ailments, I like to think of them in terms of emotionally remediable disturbances. If I am sick then, I am not at the mercy of a medical doctor, or a pill. This does not mean you should not go to a hospital or take prescribed medication. It means you should understand that medicine can create physical shifts, but GOD does the healing. He created the human body to restore and heal itself. Now, I know that death is a part of life since the fall in the Garden of Eden. However, I believe that not all sickness is unto death (John 11:4).

I know that pain can cause loathing. You might feel like all you can do is take an aspirin and go to sleep. For some reason, even people who pray often, seldom pray for migraines. It is as if this is a special symptom that is somehow prayer repellant. NOT SO, friend. Pray for your headache. Maybe it is a warning of some imbalance like a potential anneurism. Prayer could stop that thing from getting worse. The same God who parted the Red Sea can stop a migraine.

I like to flip the script on natural obstacles to make room for revelation in my mind. This process leads to a mental shift.

Miracles are hallmark of the gift of faith. However, it only takes faith the size of a grain of mustard seed to move a mountain.

And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. Mathew 17:5-6

Comparing faith to a mustard seed is no small insignificance. It is a huge metaphor. When I say all the faith you have is all you need, here are some things you need to know about the mustard seed:

    • It is one of the smallest seeds on the planet.
    • It’s oil can only be expressed through crushing, or pressing, or otherwise breaking the seed.
    • It has essential antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins that help reduce the symptoms of asthma, arthritis and muscle pains and promote healthy weight loss.
    • It has anti-aging properties.
    • Frost is detrimental to this crop.
    • Land preparation for sowing mustard seeds requires one or two rounds of ploughing and two rounds of harrowing.
    • Before sowing, the mustard seed is treated to protect it from diseases.
    • It should be harvested as soon as the mustard pods begin to turn yellow and the seeds become hard.
    • It takes about 110 to 140 days for the mustard crop to mature.
    • Early morning harvesting is recommended.

    Let’s explore these elements.

    • JESUS did not say you had to have mango seed faith – a seed large enough to cut into pieces and share. A seed you could throw five feet away and still see it without getting closer and without the aid of a magnifying glass. He asks for mustard seed faith that can start small and grow into a flowering plant. A seed that is literally much smaller than a dime.
    • If it were not for the crushing or pressing or otherwise breaking of the mustard seed, it’s oil could not be accessed. If you are in a pressing place, remember that pressing has a purpose. You anointing is the result of pressing and crushing including brokenness, trils and tribulations. Do not worry, nothing you have been through will be wated.
    • The oil of your life is a spiritual antioxidant. It fights the cancers of doubt and sin. It can be poured into the lives of others to heal wounds. The process of expressing it through you, heals you.
    • Faith is the real fountain of youth. By faith, Gideon told th sun to stay ints place and time stood still. By faith Hezekiah, when he was warned of God, turned his face to the wall in fastin and prayer, and God increased his life by fifteen (15) years. By faith, Abraham and Sarah conceived and birthed a child when they were over ninety years of age.
    • God says of the lukewarm, that he will spew you out of His mouth (Revelation 3:16). Rather, we are to be either hot or cold – but do not ley your faith grow cold, because it will stop gbrowing. A cold heart is often so because love is lacking. This coldness is detrimental to your faith.
    • Befor you can have faith that slays Goliaths, you should have faith unto salvation. Breaking pup the fallow ground of the heart is a necessary precursor to faith that moves mountains. This is because a hard heart will prevent you from seeking and knowing God at a high level.
    • When you receive salvation through Christ, you are endowed wit the Holy Spirit. This is your immunity booster that guards your heart from the enemy. We need the Holy Spirit to keep us thinking right things, believing right things, and doing right things.
    • Faith is a seed that needs to be planted as often as possible. If you do not exercise your faith, you will find it increasingly difficult to believe in God becaue doubt will become second nature.
    • In things of faith, there is seed, time, and harvest. You do not know how much time will be required between your belief and the manifestation of what you are believing for. Thus, it is better to stand on faith now, rather than wait for another sign.
    • The best time to pronounce your faith, is everyday, when you first wake up to a new day. You did not raise yourself from slumber. God raised you. Before you do anything else, greet Him and tell Him, LORD, I believe you. God is specificallly looking for faith in the earth. He did not ask, “When I return, will I find a church (or missionary, or choir, etc.).” He asked, “When I return, will I find faith?” (Luke 18:7-8).

When God finds someone with crazy faith, He pulls out all the stops. Instead of you always asking for what you want, He will ask, “What do you want me to do?” (That is what He said to me when I was sixteen and travailing over what I now know to be a small thing; but He brought everything to pass, exceedingly and abundantly above all that I asked or even thought (Ephesians 3:20)).

Faith is a #mygrain. You can believe for a change and own the victory, or stick with a headache and give away your reward. Choose faith and travel light.

18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? 19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it. Luke 13:18-19

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Ephesians 3:20

    Thank you JESUS! Hallelujah!

    Today’s Bible Insight: #MyGrain

The following is an excerpt from the book, Travel Light (in progress at https://goheirforce.com/library/books/travel-light/.

Wisdom Keepers

The following is a lesson from a Bible Survey Curriculum called, Wisdom Keepers that the Holy Spirit wrote in my spirit while I was in a hospital.

The beginning of Wisdom is: get Wisdom (skillful and godly Wisdom)! [For skillful and godly Wisdom is the principal thing.] And with all you have gotten, get understanding (discernment, comprehension, and interpretation). Proverbs 4:7 AMP

Biblical Wisdom Keepers (BWK) is a Bible study book club and leadership program designed to identify and train Bible-based teachers, counselors, and prayer warriors. The curriculum is centered on wisdom as principally gained through the book of Proverbs. WiSeekU offers twelve levels of training based on the Biblical Wisdom Keepers Curriculum. Students complete 47 credits to graduate and receive the Biblical Wisdom Keepers Level 1 Certificate.

    Wisdom Keepers Lantern (Level 1)

    Level 1 (L1) Overview

    • Theme: Consecration & Self-Help
    • Color: Yellow
    • Symbol: A yellow lantern
    • Prerequisite: High school diploma or GED
    • Daily Proverbs: Read (at minimum) Proverbs 1 – 3 every day
    • Significance: Students at this level are showing potential for kingdom work; yet, they need spiritual and natural guidance to help spark the seed of leadership Students may or may not have yet accepted Christ as their personal Savior. If not, they should be first led to Christ.

Daily proverbs are to be read and reflected upon each day, for the duration of the level of learning. Students should also journal thoughts and reflections as they are reading. The goal is to memorize the book of Proverbs by the time the student completes the 12th (highest) level of Biblical Wisdom Keepers training. “Hrs.” is the suggested daily commitment in order to accomplish the goal (e.g. 1 hour devoted to each chapter, for a total of three study hours each day, repeated every day that the student is at the current level of study.

    Level 1 Daily Proverbs

    • Read Proverbs Chapter 1, Chapter 2, and Chapter 3

BWKLIDP – Proverbs Chapter 1 Overview

The classical Greek philosopher, Plato (428/427 BC – 348/347 BC) founded the first institution of higher learning in the Western world – the Academy of Athens. At his school, the words, “Let no one enter who is not a geometrician” were written in Greek above the door. A commoner of low estate and no esteemed education would doubtfully have earned sought Plato’s respect to the point of sharing his table. This is in stark contrast to the person of Jesus, who not only ate with commoners and sinners, He also said of wisdom that if it were lacked by any man, he should ask it of God who would give to all liberally and without bias (James 1:5). The wisdom of Solomon presented in the book of Proverbs is available to all people, regardless of age or prior learning. You can sit at the table with the most esteemed and learn the same principles and truth that have been presented to all ages since the penning of the book.

The purpose of the book of Proverbs is outlined in the first six verses.

1The proverbs (truths obscurely expressed, maxims, and parables) of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: 2That people may know skillful and godly Wisdom and instruction, discern and comprehend the words of understanding and insight, Receive instruction in wise dealing and the discipline of wise thoughtfulness, righteousness, justice, and integrity, That prudence may be given to the simple, and knowledge, discretion, and discernment to the youth— The wise also will hear and increase in learning, and the person of understanding will acquire skill and attain to sound counsel [so that he may be able to steer his course rightly]— That people may understand a proverb and a figure of speech or an enigma with its interpretation, and the words of the wise and their dark sayings or riddles (Proverbs 1:1-6 AMP)

    Lesson IDKey TermsHrs.Themes
BWKLIDP – Proverbs Chapter 1You will notice that the word “Wisdom” is always capitalized in the first book of Proverbs. This wisdom is better translated as, “The Wisdom of God.”Daily:
    1 hr.
The purpose of the book of Proverbs (Proverbs 1:1-6). The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7a). Avoid the enticement of sinners and the lure of sin (Proverbs 1:8-19). Wisdom is personified. Rewards and punishments are established for honoring and dishonoring wisdom respectively (proverbs 1:20-23).

    Proverbs Chapter 1 Commentary

God loved Solomon even from birth (2 Samuel 12:24). How fitting that Solomon should one day become King and ask for God’s divine wisdom rather than riches and fame. Solomon had been born to a King, David, who was a praying man and a man after God’s own heart. We can conclude that the influence of King David was strong in Solomon’s youth. It is no surprise that Solomon walked in ways pleasing unto God (until strange women turned away his heart). From the lesson of David and Solomon, we see the importance of parental guidance, and the need for consistent consecration to God, that we are not carried away with the lure of sin and lore of possession or pride of life. We also have an example of God’s longsuffering love, which was extended to both David and Solomon, even after they had sinned.

We know from II Chronicles 1:7-13 that when Solomon was on mount Gibeon and had made a thousand burnt offerings to the LORD, Solomon asked God for wisdom to judge the people over which God had made him king. God gave Solomon not only wisdom but also great wealth.

    II Chronicles 1:7-13

7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee. 8 And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.  9 Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.  10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?  11 And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:  12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.  13Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.

Wisdom is personified specifically as a woman [she] of great worth, exemplifying God’s divine plan for living and the sublime character of Christ His son. Wisdom belongs to God and issues from God. Having wisdom is no pedestal of boasting, as God gives and so can also take wisdom. He confounds the wise to instruct them in humility. He makes the foolish seem as the learned lest the learned should mock Him. No person should think him or herself acclimated by wisdom as if it were of his or her own power, because wisdom comes from God. It is more than the knowledge that may be read from a book. Though we may read the proverbs of Solomon and learn what were the thoughts of his heart, we each need God to impart divine understanding to what we have read. God desires that we have an understanding as to the companion of wisdom, which is our principal goal (Proverbs 4:7).

In order to walk in wisdom. one must put away childish games of severe and casual injury to the spirit of humanity by insult and prideful conceit. Only when we humble ourselves before God can we find the path to patient wisdom, which loves not the simplicity of mind but desires the augmentation of wisdom, accepting both council and reproof. Those who desire wisdom, will not run from correction, but rather will seek truth above reputation. Reputation is God’s responsibility. The wise are charged with keeping the truth. Whatever then should be the just reward of the wise is in the hands of God. The truly wise will love the LORD God and reverence Him with Godly fear (deep respect pertinent to God’s omnipotence), not being overly concerned with the reward.

    Thank you JESUS! Hallelujah!
