When a storm comes, it is easy to hear thunder. Listening for reign… now, that takes salt. Today we add the art of listening to the prayer of breakthrough. MORNING PRAYER
When you pray and then you have a breakthrough, it helps to strengthen your faith. If you have not read the Preface to this journal, read it today. Let us continue in prayer with thanksgiving (Colossians 4) as we watch for the reign.
A Prayer For You
Pray this prayer and or a prayer of your own. Heavenly Father, I thank you, that you know all things. You have given me the gift of prayer that I may come to you at any time. I thank you that you hear and understand all things. You know me better than I know myself. You know that I am lost without you. I can do nothing without you; but through you, I can do all things as you give me strength. Now, Lord, let me find favor, and teach me how to know your presence. I want to be closer to you. Your throne is in heaven, and the universe is yours, but helps me to recognize your glory here on earth. Keep me from confusion, provoked by the enemy. While you are working, help me to be still. I want to see your salvation. I know you have a plan me, let me get with your agenda. I want to gaze upon your glory. You are holy God. You are a righteous God. You are King of Kings. I am waiting on you, LORD. You are the only wise God. You are the everlasting God. I wait on you. You said, Be ye Holy, for I am holy. I want to consecrate myself to you. I am looking to you, the author and the finisher of my faith. You set the world in order. You did it all by yourself. You reign. Send your rain, LORD! I’ve gotten my feet wet, dipping into this holy way. I am just getting started. I want to be washed by you. Cleanse me, LORD! Clean me up. Make me over. Make me new. Open up my mouth and fill it with your Word of truth. Write your law on my heart that I might not sin against you. Send down the rain! Anoint me for your service. Have your way, LORD! In Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen.
MINISTRY PERSPECTIVE
An Ordinary Life
Sometimes, God chooses ordinary people. Even so, nothing He builds is commonplace. No, that it is not a word puzzle. When God reigns in your life, you may have been an average singer, but you become an anointed psalmist. You may have been an all right (or just aight) speaker, but you become a divine orator. You may have planted a single day in His Spirit before now; but you get the same reward as the one who has been working forty years, because it is from the same Spirit (Galatians 6:8). There is only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism (Ephesians 4:5).
You may have been just an Average Jane, Another Jenny on the block; but when God gets in your business, things start happening. You will not do the same things that you used to do. You will not go the same places that you used to go. When I say not the same, it does not mean that your every destination will change, or that your every occupation will be different. Not everyone is doing everything wrong. I am talking about the heart of you. You will not go the same, because you will not be the same. You will not leave Him, like you came, in Jesus’ name. Once you have been separated (Acts 13:2); once you have been justified (Romans 8:30); you will work while it is day, for the night comes when no one can work (John 9:4).
The reign of God is the sovereignty of God. It will stir up the gift (2 Timothy 1:6) in your situation. When you hear the alter call, get up, and get in the prayer line. You may have been ordinary, but you become a phenomenal woman. That is what God’s reign does, when it starts turning in you.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed are they that trust in Him. When you are chasing after God, as if your life depends on it, you might have to get out of the hater huddle. However, do not worry. No one has left anything for His sake and the gospel, who will not receive that and greater in this time and in the end, eternal life (Mark 10:30). Our Father is rich, in houses and land. If it were not so, the LORD would have told you. What will you bring Him? Can you trade your ordinary life, for a crown and white raiment? For a peace that passes understanding? For a way in the desert? You can get out of the wilderness.
You can start out, or start over, but start when it’s reigning Jesus. Follow the His glory. You will have more peace. You will have more joy. You will see a way out of no way, cause God does not need you to have your ducks in a row, before you surrender all to Him. He can even line up the nations, all by Himself. Do not wait for a trial and a test, before you make a true commitment. In this world, trials will come, but you do not have to be always down.
I do not know about you, but I have been down long enough. I have been talked about, kicked out, busted and disgusted. It is time for a change. The winds are about to blow. The latter rain is coming, because the LORD is reigning. It’s reigning Jesus. Start signing in the reign. The praise always comes before the victory. It’s almost here. It’s almost here. It’s almost here.
EVENING DEVOTIONAL
Theme: Open the eyes and ears of my heart.
Devotional Basis: Isaiah 6:1-6
Memory Verse: Mark 5:34 – “”
Worship Song: Open The Eyes of My Heart by Michael W. Smith
Evening Prayer: Seeking God’s face.
Ministry Perspective: Healing Heart Conditions
The Message: Awakening
Morning Journal Focus: How did Jesus know who touched Him?
EVENING PRAYER
God gives power through His Holy Spirit to be effective in ministry because He wants you to succeed in His great commission (). Resist the devil and he will flee from you. This is the admonition of James 4:7. In separating light from darkness, we have been told that to come out from among them is the only way to let light prevail. Now we need to receive an instruction that light shining in darkness is not so if light shuns darkness. In order for the light to infiltrate darkness, it must go to the darkness in some way. If we are not strong enough to go, we should work on becoming strong, while the strong serve as God’s envoy. This does not mean that you have to go to unclean places.
It means that just as Jesus ate with publicans and sinners, we who would win souls cannot hope to do so enormously, by casting out of our presence completely, people who do not the truth of God. However, in compassion, considering ourselves (staying prayerful and submitted to God), we are called by God to strengthen the feeble minds through faith. The battlefield of the mind is where the most important battle of purpose is waged – because as a man (or woman) thinks in his (or her) heart, so is he (or she).
Jesus means for us to resist the devil himself: that spirit of the antichrist. However, we must mature in spiritual warfare that we may be able to resist the enemy while loving the person who is under his influence. This is sometimes difficult, because the individual we are seeking to save may be weak minded, not able to join us in fasting and prayer of resistance.
A Prayer For You
Pray this prayer and or a prayer of your own. Heavenly Father, make me a light that shines for you. Heal my infirmities. Let my way not be slacked. Energize my witness and let my fervent prayer be effectual. Fortify me your servant, that I may not fall in lifting up the broken hearted unto you. Teach me how to temper my words with love. Show me your way of loving-kindness, to draw the thirsty spirit to your fountain reign. Teach me how to prepare my feet with your gospel of peace. Let your wisdom be always on my lips. Give me what to say at the time appointed. Help me to have a word of encouragement for the tired and the oppressed. Put charity within me. Give me a heart of flesh. Make me a beacon of hope. Shine your love through me. Turn my oil lamp, into a lighthouse. Let the wayfaring find rest in you. Help me to be a good and faithful servant. Seal me with your Holy Spirit. Win the battle of my mind. Keep me from besetting stones. On Christ, the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand. Plant me in your will. Help me stay there, to be rooted, to be grounded in your way and your truth. I want help raise up, a generation that will praise you. I want to see your glory in real time – not just in my life, but in the world around me. Send out a beacon, LORD. Make a ripple in the world, every time a soul is saved. I know there’s rejoicing, all around your throne, when another one comes, to meet you the King. Word my lips, LORD. I need to have an answer, when they ask me why, I bow to you. I want to see them grow – like trees by the water – grow up in your Spirit, to bless your name. Help me Jesus. I want to make to in to your kingdom and to win the lost for you. In Jesus’ Holy Name, that precious name. Amen.
