Author’s Preface

Confession is good for the soul. However, you are not simply to repeat what you have done wrong – over and over again. To make a confession is also to speak those things that be not as if they were in effect true [1]. This is using the power of your spoken word [2] to manifest in your life the things that need to be real in your experience. In other words, you are to speak over your life the truths that are universal and fundamental. This levels the playing field as you face challenges in your life.

It is good to have an arsenal of scriptures relative to various situations that you can decree and declare as necessary and at will. There are rights and privileges in accordance with your royal status – since you are a child of the King. It is good to also affirm these to educate and empower your spirit. Make affirmations about situations that need to change, and about things that need to remain the same in your life (to guard their stability in your mind). For example, if you already have a good husband, speak it to yourself and to him. Your subconscious will direct you to appreciate him more, that you do not lose your blessing (him) and that he does not lose a good thing (you) [[3]]. If something needs to change, do not nag about it to the people who are involved in that situation. Talk to God about it and continue to show love to those people.

Here are a few benefits of your royal status:

  • Confidence in His Presence. When you know who you are in God’s royal family, you can come boldly to the throne of grace.
  • Forgiveness. Forgiveness is a two-way street. Forgive others in order that you will be forgiven. Remember that salvation is of the soul. You still have to renew your mind. Though God gives you peace about a certain situation, it does not mean necessarily that you will forget the incident altogether. Your mind must be renewed to help you in the healing process to avoid obsessing over things that God has delivered you from. This mind renewal brings about a transformation in your spirit..
  • Redemption. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, you have been redeemed (recovered, converted, transformed, and restored to God).
  • Wisdom. God gives wisdom to those who ask Him. Wisdom is a precursor of anointing.

Based on The Book

Affirmations can be good sayings based on universal truths. However, do try to draw your affirmations directly from the Word of God as this adds divine authority. Every cell in your body knows who your Creator is and will take notice when you speak directly from the Word. If you have any particularly challenging mountains in your life, speak to them directly.

The mountains in your life are tuned into the frequency of your own voice. You can always ask someone to pray for you. However, your mountains know your voice. Speak to your mountains… In the name of Jesus, I speak to the mountain of poverty and lack and command you to be removed. Wealth and prosperity come forward with peace for it is written that the blessing of the Lord maketh rich and he addeth no sorrow therewith [4]. Here are some sample affirmations: I am made in the image of God, with authority in the earth.

“God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beasts, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.” Genesis 1:26 AMP

I am an outstanding creation of the marvelous God.

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139:14

I have divine power to overcome.

[I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” Philippians 4:13 AMP

Jesus is my Lord

Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 AMP

Affirmative Pro-Action

Be proactive in your affirmations. Make it a habit before you have a doubtful crisis (strengthen your mind while times are good, so that if and when your mind is under attack, your muscles will already be strong by reason of use [[5]], and your reflex (default action) will be to pray and praise God in advance for the victory). In order to be consistent as a positive influence and a safe place for others to release steam nonviolently, and to allow a negative person to hear your silence to their negatives and ultimately recall only your positive input, you have to keep your own mind unsullied from negative thinking.

Train your mind to default to positive thinking [[6]], especially under stressful conditions when it can be more difficult to be on your best behavior since you are under pressure. Ideally, positive thinking becomes your first reaction when something tries to attack your mind with a negative thought or emotion. Remember that evil spirits have a voice. If you “hear” something or have a thought in your mind that is ungodly, it does not mean that you are in sin. The enemy attacks your thoughts, speaking to you of all manner of evil and calamity because your mind is built with an automatic recorder, called the hippocampus. The enemy is trying to program your thoughts. Filled with negativity, your personal recorder will then feed you negative thoughts on auto-playback. What else would you expect from something whose name is rooted in the Greek translation, “sea monster? (Hippocampus translated)” It is a monster alright, especially if you are prone to negative influences.

The hippocampus is responsible for the translation of information from short to long-term memory.

Of course, the enemy wants you to forget the good and be overwhelmed, stressed out, sick and tired. If you want to remember the good in others, the good in your life, the good worth living for, the goodness of God, you have to displace or overwrite all of the negative programmings with positives. I like to call this downloading God’s faith podcast: there is music, the Word, activities, and affirmations that you can incorporate into your daily life to keep your thoughts on the mind of Christ and not give place to pessimism, depression, and evil thinking.

Like changing a bucket filled with dirty water, you would have to add enough clean water to displace the dirty water and change the property of the water bucket into a vessel unto clean water. Training your mind to displace negatives is not a passive activity. In the beginning, you have to vigorously combat negatives, until you develop default filters that will automatically send negatives to your internal spam collection to be deleted.

It is not by a mighty temper, nor by any earthly authority that your heart will be conformed to the character of Christ. It is only by the Spirit of God. When you speak your affirmations, look at yourself in the mirror. Otherwise, imagine yourself in front of a mirror, looking at yourself and proclaiming to your own spirit, everything you are and everything that you will become, that you are who you affirm to be; and you are not bound to what title(s) the world would have you bear. Use your daily affirmations to help you cast off any negative labels that others may have given you. You are not what someone calls you in a moment of angry spewing, insulting jest, prejudice, or other injustice.

You are who God says you are.
