LORD, I Am Available To You

Day 1 – Running Praise

1.3

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

We agree that the Apostle Paul knew something about maintaining a life of purpose. He exhorted believers to program their thought processes with constant rejoicing (Philippians 4:4) and other positive things. Today we would say read books or listen to audio from great thinkers. Even if you are asleep, your brain is doing something. That is a good thing. However, if you do not tell your brain what you want it to think while you are conscious, then when you are unconscious, it does what it was designed to do when you are not actively giving commands, which is to create autonomously.

Some of my best ideas come to me in dreams and night visions when I am not actively making demands on my memory and creative faculties. The thing to remember about autonomous brain creativity is that it still uses a source to feed the flow of ideas from which it makes derivative works. A mind full of nothing good will create evil by default. It is still creative. It is just dark. It is precisely the reason why I do not watch horror films. I am a dreamer. I dream often. When I watched horror films, I no longer had an abundance of dreams. I had a mess of nightmares. I no longer watch horror films and I rarely have nightmares anymore.

Remuneration is a sin. Evil communication is sin. Thinking in itself is not sinning. Just because the enemy brings a thought to you does not mean you have to entertain it. Resist him, and don’t forget to submit to God (James 4:7). Some things that your subconscious brings to your forethought are just responses to the input that you took in. If you want to change your thoughts, you have to start moderating your thought gate. Do not allow every tik tok and Harry to waltz into your mental space. And if there is a loiterer who slips in, cast it out – believers call that taking every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5).
