11th II Samuel Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Blow The Trumpet In Zion For Peace

Memory Verse: So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more. 2 Samuel 2:28 KJV

The Bible exhorts us to love one another, yet we find people bickering amongst themselves in many situations. It is easy to look at “other people” and see the folly of their argumentation. Yet, God asks us to search our own hearts to see if there be any hatred for others.

If there is division in the camp, someone has to take a stand for unity. A people divided amongst themselves will fail.

But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth. Luke 11:17 KJV

Peace is not just a flower (lily), or something for conversation. Yes, we should talk about it. Then, do it. Be about peace. Create peace. Give peace. Jesus promises perfect peace to those whose minds are continually in reverence to Him. This peace cancels both worry and fear. This is important to making peace with others as often the root of discord is either fear or worry. A person overly concerned (worried about) with his or her status, seeks to diminish such for any one who may be seen as elevated in comparison. A person who is afraid of failing is often the one who belittles others to draw others’ attention away from his or fear of facing a challenge. These things should not be so among the people of God.

Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren [to kill them]? II Samuel 2:26 KJV

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 KJV

Resting in peace is the prize of the faithful after parting this world. Do not wait for death to live in peace.
