21st Joshua Chapter 22 Chapter 24 Set A Good Example

Memory Verse: Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left; Joshua 23:6 KJV

The faithfulness of Joshua effected the Children of Israel in a positive way. His Godly leadership gave the Israelites something to emulate. His service also was not easily forgotten. The Bible says that the elders yet living of the children of Israel after Joshua’s passing – at the age of one-hundred ten, continued following God, holding God’s mighty works among them in remembrance (Joshua 24:31).

Who is following your example? In this information age where social media is a virtual king, the term following has come to invoke casual observation. When Jesus said, “Follow me…” (Matthew 9:9), He called for a life in submission to His will (Matthew 10:38).

What’s more, Jesus is not asking you to do something He has not done. He asks you to love Him. He loved you first (I John 4:19). Has God asked you to feed His sheep? Be sure, He fed you first. With each breath, He gives you life before you can give it back to Him. If someone is following you, where are you leading them?

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; I Peter 2:9 KJV
