Matthew 9:12

The Spirit of The Lord saith:

You have heard that you should “Come out from among them [sinners] (2 Corinthians 6:17). ” At this Word you have cast down the broken-hearted, the felon, the abused, the harlot; the “Publicans and the sinners” (Mark 2:16). And to whom do you think the Gospel should be preached?

10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Matthew 9:10-13

Do not witness to the choir only. The Spirit of God is savvy enough to accomplish all necessity – being able to gird the spiritual giant with strong meat (Hebrews 5:14); and to nurse the infant in faith who is a spiritual babe (Hebrews 5:12); and to divide asunder the very heart and spirit, separating the bonds of the enemy from the hearts of men (and women).

The Apostle Paul was not a poor man. He used his own wealth to accomplish many of his missionary journeys. He was a man so in tune with the very heart of God, that the Spirit of the Lord upon him caused people sometimes to faint as he passed by. This man was formerly a murderer – persecuting Christians, though he thought that at that time he was doing “right.”

Do you believe in the power of God?  What does that mean? There is a world out there suffering from what they do not even know is vexing them. We who are of the household of faith claim to have the answer. So what are we doing to merely talking amongst ourselves. The mission field is not reserved for missionaries. If the Gospel were not preached to sinners, you wouldn’t be saved either.

Think about it: God does not have to send everyone to a foreign [in reference to where they now stand] country. Mother Teresa said, “Find your own Calcutta.” Business men and women say, “Find a need and fill it.” Even in the world there is a consensus on how to make progress. Yet, the tradition of doing things the same way because that’s the way they have always been done – even if they are not effective, is allowed still to erode kingdom work.

Also, the excuse of not doing something extraordinary because you don’t have a big budget is no longer a valid argument. Your Calcutta could be right outside your front door. If not, you’ve got to start exercising – your faith like potatoes (if you haven’t seen that movie, watch it. If you’ve seen it. Watch it again.)

You’ve got to free your mind. Break the mould. God knows what century we live in.
